Our story
My wife and I are both dentists and yoga teachers. We have hosted 8 dental aid yoga retreats (thus far) in a beautiful village in northern Dominican Republic. On our first ever retreat, the resort ran out of coffee and instead served raw cacao. The morning effects were astounding! We all felt awake, alert, yet without any jitters or dehydration, so we have since empowered the local villagers to sell cacao to us and to our retreat participants.
We have been consuming cacao lattes in the morning ever since, and now our desire is to share this with you in hopes that it inspires you to slow down and treat your morning sacredly with a nice, grounded morning ritual.
We are excited to announce that we partnered with Projecto Almarte, a co-op that is teaching the local farmers of El Valle how to grow and cultivate ceremonial grade cacao for which they can earn 10x more income to enable them to escape the grips of poverty!
